This innovative program for Schools, will support students through an interactive, online, self-paced, and self-assessing learning platform.

Skills Generation’s Hybrid Flexibility (HyFlex) Skills program provides Schools with an innovative training alternative that supports student success and provides a pathway to meaningful outcomes, formal certificate level qualifications and QCE credits.

Designed for students from years 9 – 12, HyFlex Skills Focuses on Business in the context of the Workplace, Communication and ICT, and equips students with skills required to be work-ready at an entry level in a wide range of industry areas. The HyFlex Skills model incorporates a two-phase pathway, from non-accredited training via a series of engaging and interactive online Learning Bytes, to completion of Skills Generation accredited Certificate II qualifications, where Supplementary Assessment is undertaken to achieve certification.

The HyFlex Skills delivery model can provide a fast-track option to Certificate II qualifications and additional QCE credits.

Phase OneSkills Generation HyFlex Skills Learning Bytes - Non-accredited online training

From as early as Year 9, students may undertake non-accredited Learning Bytes (phase one of the pathway).

Students will access the HyFlex Skills Online Learning Platform to undertake the series of interactive and engaging Learning Bytes, each individual Byte constituting both learning resources and auto-assessment.

Students receive real-time recognition of achievement and success. As each Learning Byte is successfully completed the student is rewarded with s Statement of Achievement.

Each Learning Byte is carefully mapped to accredited units of competency within BSB20120 Certificate II in Workplace Skills; ICT20120 Certificate II in Applied Digital Technologies

On completion of sufficient prescribed Learning Bytes, the student will have completed a non-accredited module that aligns with, and has been carefully mapped to, an accredited unit of competency.

Phase Two: Transitioning to Certificate II Qualification with Skills Generation – HyFlex Skills delivery model

Students undertaking or having completed HyFlex Skills Learning Bytes and enrolled in Year 10 or higher can enrol in Skills Generation Certificate II qualification/s delivered via the HyFlex Skills model.

Evidence of knowledge achieved through HyFlex Skills Learning Bytes is fully recognised within the aligned accredited units of competency.

Students complete additional Supplementary Assessment under the supervision of a School Teacher to fulfil remaining knowledge and performance requirements. Skills Generation provides the School with detailed resources, instructions and observation checklists to support the teacher in gathering evidence and reporting successful completion.

A Skills Generation TAE qualified trainer assesses the students work and reports competency achieved on successful completion of Supplementary Assessment and required Learning Bytes.

On successful completion the student receives their Certificate II qualification and QCAA can ascribe QCE credits in consideration of each individual students circumstances.
